GWE will reduce the energy consumption and so running cost of your lighting system. We realise the savings by ensuring your lighting is only used when necessary, and, when it is in use, that its only illuminated to the required or necessary light levels. We achieve this using the ECO-MAX centralised lighting control system, and uniquely combining some or all of its bespoke timed or presence on-off lighting controls, together with staged dimming of lighting, to time, presence, or fully daylight linked to available natural daylight. Metering can also be incorporated as necessary for a particular installation scenario or customer requirement. GWE and its distributors are the sole suppliers for ECO-MAX which are manufactured by us, here in the UK. They come standard in an IP51 wall mount or floor standing indoor enclosure. The ‘ready to install’ unit can the be delivered with test certification and installation, operation and maintenance instructions, for the client to install, or GWE can provide full project management including installation, commissioning and training.

Lighting optimisers

The ECO-MAX system is the range of Lighting Optimisers which are generally aimed at industrial and commercial discharge and fluorescent lighting systems where savings of around 25-40% are typical common without turning lights off.

Greater savings up to 70% are common where natural daylight is available and lights can be automatically dimmed or even turned off at times. The ECO-MAX lighting optimizer can combine numerous controls:

• Daylight linking light controls – with sensors in place, daylight can be harvested, and lights automatically switched off or dimmed down to the minimum level required. Daylight levels can be linked to levels of voltage optimisation.
• Zoning light controls – 1 control system can control up to 4 zones
• Switching light controls – e.g. manual, timed switching – fully programmable
• Occupancy detection – this type of lighting control is only applicable to certain types of lamps.

The ECO-MAX’s come in a full range of models and sizes to suit any size lighting system from a 1 Phase 6A to a 3 phase 250A.

 

ECO-MAX FDIM

The ECO-MAX ( F ) is the standard lighting optimiser which is configured to give a predetermined fixed reduction in power consumption of around 20-40%. The unit has an integral ignition sequence, and can be controlled externally from manual or timed switches, daylight or motion detectors or sensors. It can be switched in and out of OFF, reduced and full power, without breaking main supply, or if necessary without turning lights off.

 

ECO-MAX SDIM

The ECO-MAX ( S ) is the staged lighting optimiser which is configured to give a staged reduction in power consumption of around 20-50%. The unit has an integral ignition sequence, and can be controlled externally from manual or timed switches, daylight or motion detectors or sensors. It can be switched in and out of OFF, through various stages of reduced, to full power, without breaking main supply, or if necessary, without turning lights off.

 

Example

Many buildings working 24hrs, keep the lights on and are burning full power 24/7, even with plenty of windows or skylights providing ample natural daylight. The ECO-MAX system will tailor the power that the lights consume, in relation to the natural daylight available, even turning them off partially or totally during the brightest periods and if the operational requirements allow. Not all environments and production activities like to have lighting turned off, particularly when using slow reacting discharge lighting such as SON or Metal Halide. In these cases, the ECO-MAX will simply reduce the power being consumed (and paid for) in stages as more daylight is available, so the maximum saving possible is achieved, but without turning the lights off.

ECO-MAX WHOLE SITE POWER OPTIMISER

The ECO-MAX Lighting Optimiser range is primarily designed to give excellent savings on larger discharge lighting systems such as factories and warehouses. Where smaller lighting systems might be struggling to meet a required payback then it would probably be worth looking at your total load from a whole site optimiser perspective. GWE's ECO-MAX Whole Site Optimiser is based on the same market leading core technology as the ECO-MAX Lighting Optimiser, and as such all our usual equipment and savings guarantees apply.

The ECO-MAX Whole Site Power Optimiser will ensure that your site equipment only consumes the minimum level of power necessary to function without compromising its performance. Due to the amount of varied equipment that may be present on a given site, and their individual tolerances to voltage, whole site voltage optimization levels cannot usually be as high as with lighting only optimisation, however, this lower percentage level is generally of a larger load, so substantial £'s and CO2's can still be saved. Levels up to 25% are achievable with typical paybacks around 12-18 month .............and remember, even if whole site voltage optimization is already in place we can usually still get further substantial savings from the lighting.

On smaller sites eg, with incoming supplies 200A/phase and under, assessment and installation is very simple. All we need is a copy of your electricity bills and to take a few voltage and current readings on site. Installation can typically be completed in the day, with a downtime of under 30 minutes !
