Engagement

A meeting is usually arranged with you to discuss your company’s particular requirements. To ensure we meet those requirements, we try to identify the main driving forces behind you wanting to make energy reductions. This might be a financial saving, an energy saving, or for environmental PR or an accreditation, such as ISO14001 etc. Lighting optimization can help you with all of these. GWE can then tailor a solution specifically to help meet those main driver targets for you.

Also at the first meeting, we will carry out an initial mini site survey which will allow us to suggest how we might be able to help you and give you an Idea of the potential savings you can make. This service is provided free of charge, and presented as a report, estimating savings, costs and return on investment, so that you can quickly assess whether a lighting electricity consumption reduction project would be worth pursuing further in your case. Alternatively if we are supplied with the required info we can prepare a provisional report from that. i.e.:

• Number and type of lamps
• Number of distribution boards feeding the lights – mixed / dedicated
• Operating hours of the lighting
• Electricity cost per KWhr
• Availability of daylight

Consultancy Services

If you feel that a project is worth pursuing, we can then offer you a number of competitively priced services including detailed site surveying, and written reports, so you can establish exactly what the savings potential, in financial, energy and CO2 emissions terms, is for your site.

Reports are presented as a detailed business case, with detailed savings, costs, and return on investment times all shown by area. What’s more, any charges that we ask you to pay for our consultancy services are refunded against subsequent orders placed for projects.

 

Detailed Survey

This will identify your lighting infrastructure, we will take electrical readings for each circuit, and establish accurate information on electricity consumption for each area.

 

• Identify your operational requirements for the lighting system.
• Identify any plans for future lighting requirements or modifications.
• Identify the existing mains electrical supply infrastructure and D/B configuration.
• Identify the existing mains electrical supply infrastructure and D/B configuration.
• Calculate the existing lighting load, based on current and voltage readings taken at the supply D/B’s.
• Calculate the existing annual operating cost, using the calculated lighting load above.
• Calculate the potential energy and financial benefits for these areas.

 

Installation Projects

Once we have agreed on the right solution for your company, GWE then offer you a number of options for implementation. You can purchase the equipment from us for you to have installed by your regular site preferred contractors, with full support from GWE. Alternatively GWE can carry out the full project on a turnkey basis, providing all health and safety and project management.

 

After sales support

We offer peace of mind after sales support and service packages which give a one, two or five year extended warranty for your project.

N.B. You may have noticed 2 spellings for optimization! Although we believe the correct spelling in the UK is optimisation with an “S”, it seems that optimization with a “Z” is now more common! We blame Microsoft and a spell checker that always defaults to the US dictionary.
